Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses gained popularity due to its ahead-of-its-time features. For a long time, Meta’s smart glasses had no competition. However, now companies like Samsung and Google are moving to release smart glasses with advanced AI-powered features. In view of the increasing competition, Meta is planning to promote the features of Rayban. According to a Financial Times report, Meta is planning to add a display to its smart glasses. This new version is expected to be released next year.
Updated Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses in 2025
The report indicates that Meta is preparing to launch a pair of Ray-Ban smart glasses with a display, which is expected to arrive in the second half of 2025. These new glasses will integrate a display to provide users with notifications and enable interaction with Meta’s AI. This is a significant upgrade over previous models.
But we think the display can do more than that. The display can show information from your phone/smartwatch as well as navigation directions.
Currently, the Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are equipped with a voice assistant, which allows users to send messages, make calls, and control various functions hands-free. Built-in speakers provide audio responses, enabling users to hear notifications, messages, and the Assistant’s responses without the need for headphones.
The glasses maintain the classic Ray-Ban design, ensuring they look stylish while integrating technology without being bulky. These glasses also connect to smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing users to receive notifications and interact with their phones. Some models include a small camera for discreet photo and video capture, while touch-sensitive controls on the frame enable easy media playback and call management.
Although current models don’t feature a visual display, the third-generation glasses coming in 2025 will reportedly include a display to provide a more immersive, hands-free experience.
Meta’s Orion Smart Glasses
Bringing fantasy to reality, Orion is the kind of face computer we’ve been seeing with Marvel’s Iron Man. Introduced in September 2024, Orion has the largest field of view in the smallest AR glasses to date. It is capable of unlocking many high-level functions that have never been seen before.
From multitasking windows and big screen entertainment to life-size holograms of people – all digital content that can seamlessly blend with your view of the physical world. Meta also emphasizes that the glasses are lightweight and versatile, suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, enabling face-to-face connections even from a distance.
Orion looks great on paper and even during demos, but the hardest thing is making it part of everyday life. Meta aims to ship its first commercial AR glasses To consumers in 2027.
