Meghan Markle may have to “bear the brunt” of a “tragic” situation involving her children Archie and Lilibet, according to a royal expert.

Meghan Markle’s concerns about her children’s royal legacy and limited UK visits.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have made limited visits to the UK and haven’t had the chance to form strong family ties with their cousins; now, the burning question is how much they know about their royal heritage.

Prince Harry has always expressed a desire for his children to grow up understanding their background; royal author Tom Quinn claims Meghan worries about future consequences.

The royal author quoted an insider as saying Mirror UK“Meghan misses some aspects of life in the UK and worries that her children will blame her if they never get to meet their cousins and, as adults, feel as if they have missed out on a fun and meaningful life in the UK.”

Will Archie and Lilibet miss out on having meaningful relationships with their cousins?

Former BBC royal correspondent Jennie Bond backed up the insider’s claim, calling it “a valid point.” She told OK!: “Children grow up and are naturally curious about their heritage and background… and when your heritage is one of the most famous families in the world, it will undoubtedly feel strange and perhaps sad that you hardly know or remember them.”

Jenny illustrated this sentiment by imagining a 15-year-old Archie, saying, “‘My grandfather is/was the king! And my uncle is/will be the king.’ But he hardly knew them or met them. How sad… and Meghan will have to bear the brunt of the responsibility for that.”

Princess Lilibet, the Sussexes’ youngest child, recently celebrated her third birthday on June 4. Born in 2021 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in California, she is the younger sister of Prince Archie and the granddaughter of King Charles III.

Initially known as Lilibet Diana Mountbatten Windsor, Lilibet and her brother will be given royal titles in 2023, honouring their “birthright”. Despite being seventh in line to the throne, Lilibet has spent little time in the UK and is the first of the late Queen’s great-granddaughters to be born abroad.

Royal expert hopes ‘things will calm down by the time Archie and Lili are older’

“Birthday parties at age three involve bouncy castles and little girls in princess dresses,” the former royal correspondent explained.

“Of course Lilibet is already a princess, but I’m sure her mother will still want to dress her up for her big day. After all, that’s half the fun of being a little girl. If Lilibet is anything like my three-year-old granddaughter, it’s about time she’ll be craving a pet… and a make-up bag filled with child-friendly (and washable) lipsticks and nail varnishes. So I hope Harry is up for the guinea pig cage cleaning chores!”

Jenny added, “I’m sure that, like Harry, she wants the best for her children… and that will include an understanding of their backgrounds. I just hope that by the time Archie and Lily are grown up, things will have calmed down and the family will be more united, even if they live thousands of miles apart. It’s not the children’s fault or responsibility, so let’s hope the adults can make it a better world for the next generation of royals.”
