Meet Tesla’s Optimus robot, the humanoid "Friend" who can do anything

He can serve. He can dance. He can take selfies. He can talk. He can do anything “you want”. That is Tesla’s Optimus robot, which can become your humanoid friend. Several humanoid Optimus robots were seen walking on the ramp and serving drinks to attendees at Tesla’s ‘We, Robot’ event held in California, United States on Thursday.

“It will basically do everything you want. It could be a teacher. It can take care of your kids, walk your dog, mow your lawn, bring you groceries, just be your friend and serve drinks. Anything you can think of, it will do and it’s going to be amazing,” Tesla CEO Elon Musk said while introducing the latest launch.

In a demo video shown at the event, Optimus was seen picking up packages and performing household tasks such as watering plants, cleaning the kitchen, unloading groceries and playing with children.

Proving his claims, Musk brought a group of Optimus robots to the party and requested people to be nice to them. “You’ll be able to walk right up to them and they’ll serve drinks at the bar. Being a humanoid robot is a unique experience. They’re right there, right in front of you.”

Musk said, in the long term, the price of Optimus will be $ 20,000 to $ 30,000.

The Internet is amazed by Optimus.

An X user shared a video of Optimus greeting people, interacting with them and taking orders. To keep an eye:

One user commented, “Didn’t it feel like you were on a time trip to be there? This incident definitely created history.”

Some users raised eyebrows at Optimus’s interaction skills. One X user wrote, “Is this really Optimus talking? It looks like there is a human being behind it.”

Another said: “The socializing and serving of drinks was conducted remotely but was still really impressive.”

“When Optimus has manual dexterity equal to that of a human, I will be interested in purchasing it. Especially if it can receive and learn information on a variety of topics. I could use help getting things done around our rental properties and our location in Arizona,” said another, showing interest in the innovation.
