First trailer of director Rahi Anil Barve’s upcoming psychological-thriller mayasabha Has been unveiled. The film hints at the mystery of the missing gold with an allegorical commentary on the layers of greed, confusion, distrust and betrayal among humans.

At the beginning of the trailer, actor Javed Jaffrey’s character says, “If you want to hide something, keep it in front of people, keep it in the open. No one will be able to see it. No matter how many times you say it, they will not hear it. Do you know why? Fishes are the last to recognize water. My entire life has been spent with fishes searching for water.”

As the trailer progresses, two characters in an empty theater discuss that someone is bringing 40 kg of gold, 24 carat gold biscuits, without documents. It was revealed that the gold was mysteriously hidden somewhere in the same theatre. However, the person hiding it forgot where it actually was.

Jaffrey’s character later says, “I made three major films within two years. I selected those scripts after careful consideration. Three of those films should have been flops. But three of them were hits. How did that happen? What did the audience want?” As soon as one character mentions “gold”, everyone else falls silent before bursting into laughter. The trailer ends with scenes of bloodshed, dark rooms and a character dying of suffocation.

Veena Jamkar, Deepak Damle and Mohammad Samad also play important roles in the film. Produced by Zircon Films Pvt Ltd, the film is presented by Pickle Entertainment (Sameer Dixit and Hrishikesh Bhirangi).

Maya Sabha is supported by Girish Patel and Ankur J Singh. The film is co-produced by Shamrao Bhagwan Yadav, Chanda Yadav, Kewal Handa and Manish Handa. Ashish Ningurkar is the creative consultant.

Barve previously co-directed the period folk-horror Tumbbad (2018), starring actor Sohum Shah in the lead role. The film was re-released on September 13, 2026.
