Maya Sabha Opening Week Box Office Collection: Rahi Anil Barve and Javed Jaffrey’s film flopped, earned only Rs 55 lakh in 7 days

After a long gap of 8 years, Tumbbad director Rahi Anil Barve returns to the big screen with his indie film Maya Sabha: The Hall of Illusion. However, the psychological suspense thriller could not see any growth in its first week and turned out to be a disappointment.

As per estimates, Maya Sabha had a slow start and collected less than Rs 200 crore. 10 lakhs on the first day. Although it saw a slow growth over the weekend, it could not continue during the weekdays. The film collected approximately Rs. 15,000 in its opening week. 55 lakh to Rs. 60 lakhs at the Indian box office.

Starring Javed Jaffrey, Veena Jamkar, Deepak Damal and Mohammed Samad, Maya Sabha: The Hall of Illusion was released in limited screens across the country, which ultimately limited its box office potential as well. Furthermore, the film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve, received mixed reviews among the audiences, due to which it did not get the growth it was looking for. If the film had received a phenomenal response, it would have become a topic of discussion through word of mouth publicity, which could have ultimately increased its collections.

The only positive factor for Maya Sabha: The Hall of Illusion is that the production cost of the film is less than Rs. 1 crore, which is a rare case in today’s times. Although the film may not be able to recoup its budget, if it had performed well in the opening week, it would have easily become a hit. It will be interesting to see whether the film is able to make a comeback in the second weekend and do something amazing at the box office or not.
