Hollywood star Matthew McConaughey recently shared an update about himself on social media. The actor posted a photo with a swollen, closed eye and captioned it “bee swelling”, which meant that he was stung by an insect.

Despite the injury, the actor seemed in high spirits and was all smiles in the above photo.

Although we don’t yet know where it happened, Matthew lives in Texas with his wife Camila and their three children – Levi, Vida, and Livingston. The Hollywood star decided to settle permanently in his home state after a family emergency in 2014.

Matthew previously explained how being back in his home state changed things for him: “The rituals came back, whether it was going to church on Sunday, sports, having a family meal every night, or then staying up telling stories in the kitchen, sitting at the island and pouring drinks and repeating them in different ways as we had told them before,” the actor told Southern Living.
