Marisa Bode claps back at people making fun of her evil character’s disability; details inside

Marisa Bode spoke out against bullying her character in the latest film, Wicked. The actress, who is wheelchair-bound in real life and onscreen, claimed that comments and jokes about ableism made her uncomfortable.

On her TikTok account, Bode opened up about the role of Nessa she played in the film and shared that although she knew she would receive hate for her character’s personality, she did not expect that audiences would accept her disability. Will tell jokes about.

In the video shared by the actress on the social media platform, the No Roles Written star revealed that she had no patience for criticism and jokes.

Addressing the audience, Bode revealed, “That’s the art and the beauty of Wicked – these characters and the movie wouldn’t be what it was if there weren’t different opinions on the characters and who is or isn’t truly evil. And Nessa. Not being liked is fine by itself because it’s imaginary.”

Clarifying about how she is hearing poor jokes about her condition, Bode claimed, “These comments are not original, and when these jokes are made by non-disabled strangers with the punchline of not being able to walk. are being made, it feels more like laughing instead of laughing along.”
