Filmmaker Reema Kagti’s latest direction, Superboy of Malegaon arrived in Indian cinemas on 28 February 2025. Malegaon’s superboy struggles to achieve speed; Now no bogo offer
Malegaon has been a dull artist at the box office co-produced by Superboy, Farhan Akhtar, Ritesh Sidhwani, Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti. On day 2, Adarsh Gaurav-Starr did not find any dramatic traction because the audience did not turn to watch the film in theaters.
Malegaon’s superboy opened at the box office on Friday with Rs 60 lakh. Reema Kagti’s Helmer was supported by purchasing-one-one-one-one movie offer on the first day. Now that the offer of Bogo is not available much, it has less expectations than its dramatic runs, closing the horns with Crosea and Chhava.
Distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, Superboy of Malegaon received good response from critics. It is expected to collect only Rs 2 crore in the initial weekend and is moving towards a sorry fortune.
Superboy of Malegaon to reach OTT after dramatic release
The producers of Superboy of Malegaon will release the film on Amazon Prime Video after their dramatic run. It is worth noting that the arrival of this slice-off-life entertainer in theaters acts as a marketing tool for its OTT release. In that sense, box office numbers need not to be stressed much.
Based on the life of a filmmaker, Nasir Sheikh, the 2024 film made its debut in the World Premier Section of Toronto International Film Festival on 13 September last year. Adarsh Gaurav’s film received a permanent ovation on the festival, which led to tears to Sheikh.
