Malaika Arora shows her expertise in cobra pose
Malaika Arora’s fitness regime is our daily dose of inspiration. Even on weekends, she makes sure not to miss a workout. On Sunday, the actress shared a montage of pictures on Instagram where she was seen dedicating her time to doing yoga at home. Dressed in a black sports bralette and grey shorts, Malaika showcased her expertise in performing the cobra pose, also known as Bhujangasana. She rested her hands on the floor and bent her body backwards while her legs were extended backwards. The cobra pose helps strengthen muscles including the hamstrings, glutes, spinal extensors, arms and shoulders. The activity improves posture, promotes flexibility, reduces lower back pain, enhances blood circulation and uplifts the mood

To “feel better”, she recommended doing the cat and cow pose aka Bitilasana Marjariasana. In a step-by-step guide, Malaika showed how to do the asana. First, she breathed in and got into the position with her hands at shoulder width. Her knees were below the hips. In the next step, Malaika urged the audience to “breathe out and come into the cow pose”. “One pose at a time, flowing into happiness,” her side note read. Bitilasana Marjariasana increases flexibility around the spine, neck and shoulder. It also relieves upper back and neck tension and can reduce anxiety and stress while promoting better sleep.

This unique yoga exercise is performed with a bamboo stick. Malaika performed a variety of movements with the stick, which left us impressed. Dand Yoga helps promote body alignment, strengthen muscles, and build strength around the hamstrings and spinal joints.
