A pleasant romantic comedy is an ideal canvas for a laughter riot, but has collided with meaningless ideas.

Ramachandran (Vikram Prabhu) is a 33 -year -old graduate waiting to get married. A completely gentleman, the only progressive person in the family of a gentleman, passes through systematic marriage. He travels to a separate city to meet a potential bride, with his family and expanded family, after which she is engaged. A meeting takes all this for Ram to join the old school style for Rama (Sushmita Bhat).

As he tries to interact with Ambika, he opposes, which doubts about her decision. However, Covid-19 lockdown forces Ram’s family to stay at Ambika’s house. The situation inspires Ramachandran to deal with the struggle of managing his debutant with Ambika, as well as dealing with the members of the retrograde family, who criticizes every step of the bride and her family.

Director Shanmug Priyan’s ‘Love Marriage’ has all the material to make a fun-filled family drama that gives a glimpse of a systematic marriage struggles. Rama’s parents see him as a burden because he has crossed the boundary of a marriage as a marriageable age. They agree to find a bride belonging to a separate caste. There is a relative who keeps chibing about everything about everything and who indulges in alcohol on every occasion.

From the bride’s side, there is a non-stop Jabbarmouth uncle and sister of a cute bride to make things interesting. Nevertheless, with all these bizarre characters, the film does not achieve its full potential. The first half of the film runs smoothly as it does not take itself seriously. Although it is estimated, the story moves forward with the gradual introduction of struggles, which surprises what is next. However, when the film starts taking itself seriously, it falls prey to excess and old ideas.

With a two -hour runtime, ‘Love Marriage’ still appears to be spread due to overdramatic and convenient turns of events in the second half. The entire stretch of Vikram Prabhu’s Ramachandran and Meenakshi Dinesh’s ‘Radha’ feels inorganic and forced. However, the film gets the message correct – especially when Rama talks about how the society pressures people to live and leads a life based on a timeline that everyone follows.

Vikram Prabhu is perfect as Ramachandran and the way he portrays a girl to know her partner, is pleasant. Ambika, as a bride, expresses with her own eyes. Meenakshi Dinesh looks attractive in a role that is quite close. The film could remove songs by an experienced actor and with an unfortunate cameo, which did not add anything to the story. Ramesh Thilak, Gajraj and Aruldos played supporting roles for the best of their abilities.

Cinematographer Madhahan Christopher’s frame shows the goodness of the village, while the music of Scene Rolden, although pleasing, shakes in moments.

‘Love Marriage’ is a film that could have become a complete laughter riot while looking at its ability. However, it ends as an anticipated family film that reminds you in the early 2000s.
