Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi has called Dhurandhar 2 “nonsense” and questioned its content, even as the film continues its strong performance at the worldwide box office.
Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi has criticized Dhurandhar 2calling it “Nonsense (nonsense) and accused it of promoting violence. Speaking at a summit recently, Owaisi questioned the merits of the film, asking, “is that a picture?(Is that even a movie?) Dismissed it as “three hours of nonsense”.

What did Owaisi say after all?
In the program organized by times noOwaisi said he did not have time to watch the three-hour film, adding that the project largely contained “abuse” and violence. He also questioned the film’s message and suggested that it made audiences wonder about its portrayal of Muslims.
When told that audiences around the world were responding positively to the film, Owaisi responded with a comment in Hyderabadi dialect, indicating that he preferred to ignore such matters rather than dwell on them.
What is Dhurandhar 2 about?
The film is based on an Indian spy, Jaskirat Singh Rangi, also known as Hamza Ali Mazari, who infiltrates the criminal and political underworld of Karachi. The story is taken from real-life events such as the IC-814 hijacking, the attack on the Indian Parliament and the Mumbai attacks.
The sequel expands on the character’s rise within Lyari’s power structure while attempting to dismantle a terrorist network. The cast also includes R Madhavan, Arjun Rampal and Sanjay Dutt.
How is the film performing at the box office?
Produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar 2 Released on March 19 and has reportedly crossed the Rs 715.72 crore mark in India and Rs 1,128 crore worldwide. It has emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2026 so far.
Original stalwartReleased in December last year, it had grossed Rs 840 crore domestically and over Rs 1,300 crore globally, leading to high expectations from the sequel.
