The actor recalled that Deepika was battling high fever and exhaustion on the set, yet was determined to complete her scenes without letting her health affect her performance.

in an interview with ndtvLara shared that shooting in Italy felt like a family vacation as the entire cast stayed together during the schedule. He credited producer Sajid Nadiadwala for creating a comfortable and relaxing environment, which ensured that the shoot remained stress-free.
Lara further revealed that many people were unaware that Deepika had fallen seriously ill. After getting infected with malaria during shooting. According to him, the actor was completely exhausted and required medical care while filming continued.
“And then the next morning, because we had this fixed schedule, there were a lot of actors and we were shooting scenes during that time that were quite emotional. So she would come on set and you could see she was completely exhausted and wiped out. But she was a complete professional. She got the job done. There was no dip in her performance at all.”
He added, “And as an actor, you have to give credit to another actor for that because I know how difficult it is when you are completely wiped out and something like malaria completely knocks you out. It’s not like you just have a cold or you just have a fever. And she was a complete professional and she is not.”
Lara also praised Deepika’s dedication and described her as reserved rather than shy. He said that Deepika is extremely focused and clear about her work, when actors understand their roles and bring their art to the set, that’s when the magic really happens.
