Popular actress Lakshmi Manchu recently opened up about the star-studded crew on film sets. The actress shared her views on the buzz going around in the town and how there are a lot of people present at the venue who have nothing to do with the project.

In a conversation with The Indian Express, Lakshmi Manchu spoke at length about the difference between Hollywood and Indian cinema. She said that unlike Hollywood, there are a lot of “unnecessary people” on the sets in India.
She said that in Hollywood, actors pull their chairs and there is just one makeup and hair person for the lead actors. The actress further said that in India, there are a lot of people on the sets. She said, “Kyon chahiye itne logon? (Why do you need so many people?)”
Manchu said every actor brings four or five people with him. “The make-up artist has an assistant, the hair person has an assistant, and even the spot boy has an assistant. What’s going on?” he said.
Further, the Budugu actress discussed the cultural differences between Bollywood and the South industry. Manchu said that each film industry in India is different in terms of their troubles, and it is up to the actors to deal with them.
Lakshmi Manchu on being a victim of patriarchy
Recently, Lakshmi Manchu made headlines when she spoke about being a victim of a patriarchal society. Talking about the hurdles she faced while moving from Hyderabad to Mumbai in search of better work, she said that her family was the “hurdle”.
She said, “The only hurdle I had was my family. They didn’t let me move forward for a long time.” The actress further revealed that she comes from a close-knit family and asked them why she wanted to be a small fish in a big pond. She added, “They had their own doubts.”
The actress moved to Mumbai last year in search of better work.
Laxmi shocked everyone with her honest and bold comments. However, in another interview with the Indian Express, she denied calling her family a hindrance. Moreover, she called the headlines misleading and called herself nothing without her father.
For those who don’t know, the Anaganaga O Dheerudu actress is the daughter of veteran actor Mohan Babu and sister of Vishnu Manchu.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Lakshmi Manchu was last seen in Mohanlal’s Monster. Directed by Vysakh, the film is a Malayalam action thriller slated to release in 2022. It also marked her debut in the Malayalam film industry.
