Actor Lakshmi Manchu recently voiced his opposition to backlash on casting of Pakistani actors in Indian cinema and emphasized that art should not be entangled with politics. It comes in between backlash in two recent Bollywood films, in which ‘Abir Gulal’ and ‘Sardar Ji 3.’ Are included.
In a conversation with Hindustan Times, the actor was asked about his opinion on calls to ban films released in India. He replied, “Do not politicize the art. Go after those who are causing trouble. You can’t just throw a blanket restriction on everyone and say that not (you can’t work with them). Where is our growth? Our warmth is where is our warmth? Where is Indians, we welcomed all these people.”
