Kusha Kapila, Divyendu, Mukti Mohan react to Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification
‘Life Hil Gayi’ cast Kusha Kapila, Divyenndu and Mukti Mohan share their thoughts on Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from Paris Olympics 2024.
The cast of the upcoming Disney+ Hotstar show, ‘Life Hil Gayi’, which includes Kusha Kapila, Divyendu and Mukti Mohan, spoke to IndiaToday.in about Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification at the Paris Olympics 2024. Phogat was barred from competing in the gold medal match in the 50kg category.
Vinesh Phogat’s disqualification from the Olympics created a stir in the country. She was barred from participating in the gold medal match because she was 100 grams overweight.
Kusha Kapila spoke to IndiaToday.in about Vinesh Phogat ahead of the release of her upcoming show and called her an ‘inspiration’. She told us, “Vinesh is an inspiration to many young girls and women. What she looks for is nothing but inspiration and she is a solid example that everyone can look up to. I think her journey is very touching, and what happened to her is definitely sad. But that doesn’t change the fact that she is not only inspiring all of us, but she has made India proud in many ways.”
Divyendu told us, “I was watching it live and the first feeling I felt was of being a proud Indian. Vinesh has made India proud and what happened to her over a few kilos made me sad. I even posted on my social media in support of her, but on the other hand, it is also a matter of the rules of the sport. But, whether she gets the gold or not, she has made India proud.”
Mukti Mohan reacted to this and said, “I just hope Vinesh gets what she wants. I want her to win the gold medal and more than that I want her to get justice. She stood up for herself and protested against Brij Bhushan, but her pleas fell on deaf ears. We are often told to stand up for ourselves and fight for what is right. Instead of being shamed for this, I hope she is heard on something bigger than the medal she was fighting for because I think she will win the gold medal anyway because she excels at it.”
About ‘Life Hil Gayi’, the show is the story of two spoilt, rich siblings who are forced to leave their luxurious lifestyle and live a simple life in a small town in Uttarakhand. Their goal is to win over their grandfather and eventually inherit his huge family wealth.
