Kiran Rao is happy after divorce from Aamir Khan: I did not feel lonely at all
Filmmaker Kiran Rao spoke about her divorce from actor Aamir Khan. She said that she and Aamir do not need any paper to define their relationship.

Missing Ladies director Kiran Rao recently spoke about how she and her ex-husband, actor Aamir Khan, took their time to decide about divorce. Now, she is happy with her decision and says she has the support of both her and Aamir’s family. “It has been a very amicable divorce,” Rao said during a recent interview. Aamir and Kiran Confirmed their divorce in July 2021.
“I think relationships need to be redefined from time to time because we grow up and change as humans. We need different things and I thought this (divorce) would make me happy and honestly, it has made me very happy,” Kiran said. The Faye D’Souza Show,
She further added, “Before Aamir, I was single for a very long time. I really enjoyed my independence. I was lonely, but now I have Azad (his son), so I am not lonely. I think loneliness is the only thing that most people are a little worried about after getting divorced or losing their partner. I haven’t felt lonely at all. In fact, I have the support of both families, his family and my family. So, really, it has been all good things. It has been a very happy divorce.”
However, it It is not easy for Kiran and Aamir to end their 15-year marriage. Kiran revealed that it took her and Aamir “some time to come closer to each other emotionally and mentally.” She added, “We needed to be reassured that we are not going anywhere, we are in it for the long haul. Aamir Khan met Kiran Rao 20 years ago during the shooting of the film Lagaan. Kiran was one of the assistant directors of that film.
