Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth are all set to be seen together on the big screen for the first time in 47 years in tentatively titled KHXRK. Now, composer Anirudh Ravichander has reacted to the massive reception the promo has received, especially the praise for its theme song, Aaja Raja.
Anirudh Ravichander reacts on KHxRK promo reception
Speaking at an event with News18, Anirudh Ravichander said, “The film will be a fun entertainer. We will give our best. It’s a very special film because both the legends are coming together after 47 years… It’s going to be great. If you see the promo, there won’t be much of a crowd. Nelson’s script has come out very well. We are going to work hard to deliver a big hit next year.”
The composer said, “We have done a lot of ensemble music for Kamal Haasan sir and Rajinikanth sir in Vikram and Jailer. For KHXRK, we tried a retro music style, bringing back the 1970s. It was surreal for me and Nelson to sit in the car with them, as it was happening after 47 years.”
Anirudh concluded that when he heard that Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth were coming together, he got very excited. He described it as a “double bonanza” and said that he has started working to give the best for the film. He also expressed his gratitude for the great response the promo received.
For those unaware, KHxRK is an upcoming film starring Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth in the lead roles. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, the film marks the reunion of two giants of Tamil cinema, with the promo pointing towards a stylish, light-hearted action entertainer.
Reportedly, the veteran stars will begin shooting for the film in 2027 after completing their respective pending projects.
Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s work front
Rajinikanth will next be seen in the lead role in the sequel Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. It is being told that the film stars SJ Surya, Vidya Balan and Mithun Chakraborty in lead roles.
With Mohanlal and Shiv Rajkumar reprising their roles from the first installment, Shah Rukh Khan is also expected to have a cameo role in the film, which is reportedly to be shot in March this year.
Additionally, Rajinikanth has tentatively kept the title Thalaivar173 in his lineup.
Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan will play the lead role in the tentatively titled KH237. Directed by Anabarivu and written by Syam Pushkaran, the film is expected to go on floors after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Apart from this, he will also be shooting for Kalki 2898 AD: Part 2 this year.
