Khushboo Sundar expressed regret on being a part of Rajinikanth starrer Annaatthe, said- ‘I became a satirist…’

Khushboo Sundar recently revealed that she now regrets acting in Rajinikanth starrer Annaatthe. In her interview, the actress was asked about any films she wished she had not been a part of.

Highlighting that her filmography in Hindi is limited to such regrets, the actress said that there are many Tamil films that she no longer wants to be a part of. Speaking more on the same, Khushboo Sundar said in an interview with Vicky Lalwani, “A recent example is the film I did with Rajnikanth sir. The role did not turn out to be the one that was sold to me. Ultimately, I could not be paired with Rajini sir.”

Talking more about the film, Khushboo avoided mentioning the title and revealed that initially, the film was supposed to feature her and actress Meena as potential heroines.

Despite the story being initially told this way, the actress agreed to accept the project keeping in mind that no other actress was paired with Rajinikanth in the film. The actress further added, “As the project progressed, Rajini sir suddenly found a heroine and a character was inserted into it. Then I felt… I had become a caricature.”

Khushboo said that initially her character in the film was supposed to be a cheerful, humorous and fun-loving person. Furthermore, after watching the film during the dubbing session, he was quite disappointed with it.

The film Annaatthe, starring Rajinikanth in the lead role, was directed by Kanguva director Siva. The film, which was released in 2021, featured the action drama story of Kailaiyan, a sarpanch from Thanjavur who is in love with his younger sister.

When his sister elopes with her lover and moves to West Bengal, Kaalaiyan sets out to find her, where he realizes the problems he faces from a certain business rival. It helps the man to take matters into his own hands and bring her out of the shadows.

With Rajinikanth in the lead role, the film starred Keerthy Suresh as his sister and Nayanthara became his romantic interest. Additionally, the film also featured Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Soori, Pandiarajan and other actors in lead roles.
