Khatija on father AR Rahman’s absence at ‘Minmini’ event: Not interested in encouraging trolls
Khatija Rahman is making her debut as a music composer in Tamil cinema with ‘Minmini’ directed by Halitha Shameem. She revealed why AR Rahman was not present at the audio launch of ‘Minmini’.

AR Rahman’s daughter Khatija Rahman has revealed why her father AR Rahman was absent at the audio launch of her debut film ‘Minmini’, which took place today on July 24. According to a report. Indian ExpressKhatija said that she wants her father to talk about her only when she proves herself. She also said that she is not interested in encouraging trolls. ‘Minimini’ is directed by Halitha Shameem.
Talking about Rahman’s absence at the audio launch, Khatija said, “It’s better that I start slowly, prove myself and then he (AR Rahman) talks about me. Otherwise, I know what will happen on social media. I am not interested in feeding the trolls. I can’t escape criticism or comparisons, but I want to make my mark first.”
Khatija also said that she was battling imposter syndrome and had to express herself through her work.

She said, “I doubted myself when I read the comments about my debut as a musician. In fact, I was battling imposter syndrome, and I understood that my work should speak for itself. I haven’t taken this opportunity lightly, and I have worked really hard for it. I hope people give constructive feedback about ‘Minmini’ instead of bashing me on social media.”
Directed by Halitha Shameem, ‘Minmini’ stars Esther Anil, Praveen Kishore, Gaurav Kalai. This is Halitha’s dream project as she shot with the cast when they were kids. She then waited for several years for them to grow up to shoot the subsequent portions.
‘Minimini’ is all set for a grand release in theatres on August 9.
