Trudeau stayed close to Perry as he greeted fans, signed autographs and stopped for selfies before heading into the screening. It may have been Perry’s premiere, but the couple’s public debut quickly became one of the biggest talking points of the night.

How did the Katy Perry-Justin Trudeau rumors start?
Romance rumors first surfaced in the summer of 2025 when reports revealed that the pair spent time together in Montreal. Interest only grew after videos surfaced showing Trudeau attending a Perry concert in the city.
Fans got another clue in December when Perry shared photos and videos from Tokyo that also included the former prime minister. Since then, the two have been seen together on several occasions, although neither has discussed their relationship publicly.
Their Tribeca appearance may not have come with a formal announcement, but in celebrity terms, walking the red carpet together is often a statement enough.
