Suriya and Trisha Krishnan are all set to play the lead roles in Karuppu. Directed by RJ Balaji, the fantasy action entertainer is scheduled to release on May 14, 2026 and its censor details have now been revealed.
Karuppu: Suriya’s fantasy action runtime and certification revealed
As per the certification issued by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Karuppu has been given a UA 13+ rating. The runtime is listed as 150.47 minutes (about 2 hours and 30 minutes), which is typical for an action film.
Karuppu Set in a world plagued by anarchy, where fear, injustice and suffering have become a part of everyday life. Amidst this turmoil, a mysterious man emerges as an unlikely superhero. As he faces personal struggles and harsh realities, he slowly discovers his strength and purpose.
Apart from Suriya and Trisha, the film also stars Indrans, Natti Subramaniam, Swasika, Shivada, Anagha Maiya Ravi, Supreeth Reddy and Yogi Babu in lead roles.
Recently, the makers released a teaser Trisha KrishnanIntroducing her character Preeti. After the teaser went viral, many fans wondered why the actress was absent from the audio launch of the film. Responding to the speculation, Trisha jokingly commented that her invitation might have got lost in the mail.
Surya and Trisha Krishnan’s workfront
After Karuppu, Suriya Venky will next be seen in Vishwanath & Sons directed by Atluri. The film is said to be an emotionally driven romantic drama, starring Mamita Baiju in the co-lead role and Raveena Tandon in a pivotal role. It is scheduled to release in theaters in July 2026.
The actor has also started work on a police action-comedy tentatively titled Suriya47. Directed by Jeethu Madhavan, the film stars Nazriya Nazim in the lead role, with Neslen also in a prominent role. Although not many details have been revealed yet, there are rumors that Silambarasan TR may play a cameo role.
On the other hand, Trisha Krishnan is waiting for the release of Chiranjeevi starrer Vishwambhara, which has no confirmed release date yet. At present the actress has not announced any new project.
