Karnataka State Women’s Commission has expressed serious concern over the obscene lyrics and derogatory portrayal of women in Nora Fatehi’s song in the film KD: The Devil and has urged the CBFC to take strict action before certification.

Karnataka State Women’s Commission has expressed concern over the alleged vulgarity and derogatory portrayal of women in the title song. Sarse Ninna Serga Sarse (Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke in hindi) from the upcoming movie KD: Devil. The panel has urged the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to take strict action before granting certification to the film.
According to a report ANIIn a letter addressed to the CBFC regional director, the commission said it had received several public complaints regarding the lyrics and visuals of the song. It described the content as derogatory to the dignity of women and a violation of film certification guidelines.

The commission stated that any material that humiliates or portrays women in an indecent manner is liable to censorship. It warned that public dissemination of such material could have a negative impact on the safety and social welfare of women and may also violate their constitutional right to dignity.
Calling for strict scrutiny, the panel asked the CBFC to ensure that objectionable songs and scenes are modified or removed before certification is granted. It also recommended action against the inclusion of such material in films.
Separately, the commission has written to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), urging it to regulate the use of obscene and abusive language in films. It said like songs Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke This has sparked public backlash and may reinforce harmful stereotypes about women.
Highlighting the impact of cinema on society, the Commission cautioned that provocative content could contribute to harassment or teasing, particularly affecting women and young girls in both urban and rural areas. There have also been political reactions to this controversy. Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut criticized the song, calling it a “new low” and accusing the film industry of crossing the limits of obscenity. He also demanded strict regulation on such content.
The track featuring Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt has gained popularity online, but has also faced criticism on social media.
The matter has now reached the legal stage as well. Advocate Vineet Jindal has filed a complaint seeking action against the song, alleging that it contains sexually suggestive and obscene content. The complaint has been sent to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
According to the complaint, the lyrics, visuals and choreography of the song promote obscenity and may outrage public decency.
