Acting with him, Rahul Bose recently reflected his cooperation, admitting that the actress was undoubtedly the lead star of the film. He also revealed that his salary was only a small part he had earned. Sharing his approach to pay differences in the industry, he commented that male actors have also played the role of ‘Starlets’ for years.
According to PTI, speaking at the Mardon Wali Weight Conference, Rahul Bose described himself as a ‘Starlet’, which accepting the reality of the dynamics of the industry. He said, “Men are also Starlet, and I am a bright example of this. I was Starlet in Jasmine, Kareena was a star. She still receives more people in theater.
He added, “I was paid Kareena. It is completely logical. People who really rule, people who come, you take better proportion. This has happened.”
While reflecting his career, the jasmine actor shared that the pattern remained, as he was never an actor who sent the audience to theaters. Rahul Bose also said that he sees the film industry properly when it comes to paying, arguing that the earnings are directly related to an actor’s box office appeal. After producing two films himself, he admitted that he did not pay himself more than what he received.
Rejecting the debate on gender pay inequality, he said that the system is straight, if an actor brings into revenue, they earn more; If not, their salary reflects it.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Kareena Kapoor was last seen again in Singham, the screen was shared with Ajay Devgan, Ranveer Singh, Akshay Kumar, Deepika Padukone, Tiger Shroff and Arjun Kapoor.
