One of the biggest talking points of the trailer is the conversation between Prajwal Devaraj and Raj B Shetty. While the producers are keeping the nature of their relationship under wraps, the footage raises an interesting question: Do the two actors portray a father-son duo from two different time periods? The trailer deliberately avoids giving clear answers, which adds to the intrigue of the film.

Ramesh Indira, Mitra, Sampada and Sushmita Bhatt also leave a strong impression in their brief roles. The film’s grassroots aesthetic, large-scale action sequences and recreation of coastal Karnataka further elevate the trailer. Director Gurudatha Ganiga also revealed that around 380 buffaloes were used during the production, highlighting the scale of the Kambala scenes.

The trailer was launched at a special event in Bengaluru on 7 July, where some fans present expressed their disappointment and claimed that Prajwal Devaraj’s voice had been changed in the trailer. Addressing the speculations, Ganiga gave clarification on the dubbing controversy during the programme. The controversy reportedly stems from disagreements between director-producer Gurudutt Ganiga and Prajwal over the delay in payment pending to the actor.

Written and directed by Gurudutt Ganiga, Karawali Presented by KVN Productions and produced by Gurudatha Ganiga Films, VK Films and Suram Movies are serving as co-producers.
