Later, Karan posted Zain’s video on his Instagram story and wrote, “Good to meet Zain.” The influencer replied, “Thank you Uncle! @karanjohar” with a smiling emoji.

Karan Johar has often spoken about the online backlash he faces. In a previous interview with Sucharita Tyagi, Karan said that he maintained a strong front to protect himself and his family, but his mother was deeply affected by the hate directed towards him.

He said, “In the last three years I felt there was a lot of hatred towards me and it affected my mother very badly. I saw her literally break down because of this hatred because she would watch TV channels. She would read things online. She would see TV anchors screaming and saying the vilest things, demonising me for some reason. Then there were people who were writing the same on Twitter and other social media platforms as well.”

He further added, “I just had to be flexible at that time, because I had to be strong for my mother and myself. After something like this happens, you feel naked. Abhi toh kapde udar di hai sabne. Abhi kya chupna? Kisse ladna? (I have nothing to hide now). Everyone, anyway, has barged into your life, and made assumptions. They don’t know what kind of a person I am. They have just made this assumption about the mafia or something that they keep talking about. They don’t know how a producer is trying to get his cast on a daily basis.”

Talking about work, he last directed ‘Rocky and Rani Ki Prem Kahani’. He is producing many films under Dharma Productions.
