Filmmaker Karan Johar, who returned to his direction in 2023 after a seven -year break with ‘Rocky and Rani Keem Prem Kahani’, opened up about the location of the film in his work body. As soon as the film completed two years, he revealed that he considers it at a par with some of his most reputed projects. He also addressed a lot of kisses between Dharmendra and Shabana Azmi.
In an interview with The Times of India, Karan said, “This is there with ‘My Name Is Khan’ and of course, my first director ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hota’, which remains special because it brought a smile on the face of my father (eminent producer Yash Johar). Our production house was suffering from huge losses, when I made ‘Kuch Kuch Hai’.
The film, which played the role of Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, was loved for his story, fresh tech on relationship and strong chemistry between the two actors. ‘Rocky and Rani’s Prem Kahani’ follows Rocky’s visit, a fiery Punjabi played by Ranveer Singh, and Rani, a sharp Bengali journalist who was played by Alia Bhatt, as they decide to experience each other’s family’s life before marriage. Along with Ranveer and Alia, the film also included a powerhouse performance by Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
Looking forward, Karan is now focused His upcoming production ‘Dhadak 2’, A romantic drama starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptty Dimri. The film also stars Saurabh Sachdeva and Vipin Sharma and is set to release on August 1, hitting the box office with Ajay Devgan’s ‘Sardar 2’s son’.
