Kannada joins actor Upendra Ram Potheineni and Bhagyashree Bores for Rapo 22
The makers of Mythri filmmakers ‘Rapo 22’ shared a poster revealing the Kannada superstar Upendra of ‘UI’ fame as a part of their film. The film stars Ram Pothineni and Bhagyashree Bors.

Kannada superstar Upendra Ram has joined the cast of Potineni’s upcoming Telugu film, titled ‘Rapo 22’. The film is directed by Mahesh Babu P, who started her direction with Anushka Shetty and Naveen Polishti’s ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishti’. Bhagyashree Bores played the role of a female lead in the entertainer, which is being produced by Naveen Jerneni and Y Ravi Shankar under the Mythry Movie Maker banner.
Upendra will be seen playing the role of a large-life character named Surya Kumar, a role that is represented by every superstar in the country. The manufacturers today unveiled their character poster, shown it in a cunning artist contingent – an overcoat combined with sunglasses – as he stands confidently, surrounded by shining lights and media.
In an X post shared by Ram Pothainani, the actor said that “our superstar Upendra Garu was honored for presenting as ‘Surya Kumar’ – we pay homage to the spirit of each superstar we praise and see.”
Ram Potinani, who is known for action-pack films like ‘Ismart Shankar’, is set to separate from her normal image in ‘Rapo 22’. He will be seen with a complete change in an unconventional avatar, reminiscent of fans of his romantic hero. The film will mark a return to a village drama of Ram Potineni, a style that he has not discovered in recent years.
Director Mahesh Babu P appears to be creating a story that mixes the heartiest story with a commercial appeal. The film has a strong supporting cast, including Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Satya, Rahul Ramakrishna and VTV Ganesh. The film’s title glimpse is scheduled to release on 15 May.
On the work front, Upendra will be seen next time in Lokesh Kanagaraja’s ‘Cool’, in which Rajinikanth led. Apart from this, he will also appear in Arjun Janya’s ambitious Kannada film ’45’ along with Shiv Rajkumar and Raj B. Shetty.
Ram Potinani was last seen in Puri Jagannadh’s ‘Double Ismart’, which was the sequel to the 2019 superhit film ‘Ismart Shankar’. On the other hand, Bhagyashree Bores, currently, is working on ‘VD22’ with Vijay Devarakonda with director Gautam Tinanuri, and ‘Kantha’ with ‘Kantha’.
