Actress Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday shared a long note on social media, in which she demanded a CBI probe into the Kolkata rape and murder case. In her note, she gave details of the case and wrote about the need to give the harshest punishment to the rapist.
Kangana called the incident ‘horrific and horrific’. In her Instagram Stories, she wrote, “The murder of a trainee female doctor at Kolkata’s Government RG Kar Medical College and Hospital is horrific and appalling. The semi-nude body of the female post-graduate trainee doctor was found inside the seminar hall on Friday morning. She was brutally murdered and had multiple injury marks on her body. The preliminary post-mortem report has indicated sexual assault before the murder. I hope the case is handed over to the CBI for a thorough investigation and the attacker is given severe punishment. #Kolkata (sic).”
The post-mortem report confirmed that the doctor was strangulated to death. The four-page report released on Tuesday said that her thyroid cartilage was fractured due to strangulation and deep wounds were found on her private parts caused by “perverted sexuality” and “genital torture”.
Due to this incident, many doctors and hospitals across the country have started protests demanding justice for the victim.
Kangana Ranaut, BJP MP from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, has also joined those demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI. Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had also warned the Kolkata Police that if they fail to solve the case by Sunday, they will hand over the case to the CBI.
