Kamal Hasan’s pupil was burnt
The effigies of actor Kamal Haasan were burnt in Karnataka as protests were protested against the actor in the middle of the language row. His film, ‘Thug Life’, is scheduled to release on 5 June.

Actor Kamal Haasan refused to be born for his ‘Kannada’ statement arising out of Tamil, several supporters-Kannada groups intensified his opposition against the actor in Karnataka. Several videos and photos came out online from the protest, in which they were seen burning the effigies of Haasan, which demanded a ban on his latest film ‘Thug Life’.
Members of Karnataka burnt mannequins and posters in different parts of the state to add anger against the Tamil superstar for their controversial statement. When Haasan, in an incident, the situation proceeded, refused to issue an apology for his statement, and said, “Love will never apologize. I will only apologize when I am wrong. If I am not, I will not (SIC).”

On Saturday, Kanada organizations and providers led by LR Shivram Gowda, Lok Sabha MP visited several cinema halls across the city, urging them not to screen ‘Thug Life’.
“We would not allow the release of the film,” he announced, appealed to the theater owners and the public to join them. After the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce (KFCC), groups have demanded a complete ban on the film’s release in Karnataka, on Friday announced a complete ban on the film in the state.
Kannada actor Shiv Rajkumar biased with Haasan in the case, causing trouble for him as the protesters also put them in line outside his house. His statement in which he appreciated the body of Hassan’s work, and his ‘contribution to Kannada cinema’ got many angry. Views of people throwing stones at their home went viral on social media recently.
Directed by Mani Ratnam, the film is about to hit the screen on 5 June.
