‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has finally managed to do what it has been striving for for a long time. This Prabhas film has surpassed ‘Jawaan’ to become the fourth highest grossing Indian film of all time at the domestic box office.

The sci-fi drama directed by Nag Ashwin grossed Rs 640.6 crore in 40 days, while the Shah Rukh Khan starrer grossed Rs 640.25 crore in its lifetime run in India. Kalki 2898 AD, the biggest Indian film of 2024 so far, has surpassed Jawaan in terms of both gross and net collections at the domestic box office.

However, ‘Bahubali 2′ remains the biggest film of Prabhas’ career with a total collection of Rs 1030.42 crore. ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ also failed to surpass the total collections of Yash-starrer ‘KGF 2’ and SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’.

This was the last nail in the coffin of ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The film is still running in theatres in its sixth week at the box office. However, it is not expected to make any new records now. The Hindi version of the film has surpassed the Telugu version with a gross earning of around Rs 350 crore and a net earning of Rs 290 crore. As per trade website reports, the Telugu version has grossed around Rs 335 crore so far, followed by the Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada versions which have earned around Rs 75 crore so far. Saconilc,

‘Kalki 2898 AD’ has now completed its full release in theatres. The film is expected to create new records on OTT after its online premiere. Several reports have stated that it will be available to watch on Prime Video from August 23. However, no official announcement has been made by the makers yet.

The film also stars Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan in pivotal roles. The producers are planning to bring the second part of the film soon.
