‘Kalki’ box office prediction: Prabhas set for a blockbuster opening day, Rs 500 crore weekend
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ earned around Rs 60 crore from its first day sales in India, while its worldwide collection was Rs 180-200 crore on its first day. The current trends also indicate that its worldwide collection will cross Rs 500 crore over the weekend.
‘Kalki 2898 AD’ is all set for its grand release. The film has registered a great business in its advance booking, promising to gross over Rs 120 crore in India. The Prabhas starrer’s first day nett collection could be between Rs 90-100 crore as the film has sold 2 million tickets on its opening day in India alone, according to trade websites SaconilcData including blocked seats shows that advance sales turnover in India alone is over Rs 60 crore.
This is really great and the last time such a trend was seen at the box office was when ‘Salaar-Part 1: Ceasefire’, ‘RRR’ and ‘KGF 2’ released in theatres. As of now, ‘Kalki 2898 A.D.’ is set to beat Prabhas’ previous films including ‘Adipurush’ and ‘Saaho’ at the box office on its opening day. However, ‘Baahubali 2’ will remain on top. The Nag Ashwin directorial will beat SS Rajamouli’s ‘RRR’ by earning over Rs 58 crore in pre-sales by the end of Wednesday.

The science-fiction drama is expected to earn Rs 180-200 crore on its opening day and is likely to surpass all estimates so far during the weekend, especially on Saturday and Sunday. At this point, it won’t be a surprise if ‘Kalki’ crosses the Rs 500 crore mark at the worldwide box office even before Sunday.
If ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ manages to gross Rs 100 crore or more in India, it will be Prabhas’ fifth starrer in the club. The pan-India superstar is already the undisputed king of the opening day box office in India, with four of the top six films being his.

It will be easy for ‘Kalki 2898 E.D.’ to surpass the Prashanth Neel-directed film on its first day, after which it will have its eyes on ‘KGF 2’, which grossed Rs 159 crore on its first day worldwide.
These are some crazy numbers and the same trend is seen with ‘Kalki 2898 AD’. The film will have to rely on good word-of-mouth to reach its break-even point, which is around Rs 700-750 crore. But, the first weekend will clearly be a riot at the box office.
