Kalki 2898 AD grossed around Rs 33.50 crore at the Indian box office on Tuesday, taking its six-day total to just short of Rs 415 crore. The film crossed the Rs 400 crore mark on its sixth day, making it the fourth fastest grosser of all time along with Jawaan. The film is expected to gross around Rs 465 crore in its extended first week of eight days.
The Prabhas starrer’s collections have dropped by around 20 per cent since yesterday’s Monday, which is a normal drop at this collection level. For films with big openings, Mondays often benefit from spillover demand from the weekend, which reduces with each passing day, leading to this drop. Monday was extremely strong for Kalki and now it has come down to normal levels on Tuesday.
Kalki is leading in North India and Telugu states. On Tuesday, the film grossed Rs 14.75 crore in North India, followed by Rs 12.75 crore in Telugu states. After Sunday, it looked like North India would go far ahead of Telugu states, but in the first two weekdays, Telugu states managed to maintain a slight distance. That being said, North India will eventually overtake Telugu states in total earnings, but it will likely not be by a very big margin.

Kalki is the most expensive Indian film ever made costing over Rs 650 crore. Initially, recovery seemed impossible due to poor trailers and then the first day collections in Telugu states not being as good as it could have been. However, things have improved a lot since then, with a huge jump in collections on Sunday followed by a good hold on weekdays, making recovery certain for the film and it will earn a decent amount.
