Kalidhar (Abhishek Bachchan) has an Alzheimer’s and is seen as the burden of his greedy brothers and his wives. They try to kill her to claim their property, but fail. After some thoughts, they decide to leave him at the Kumbh Mela, after taking his thumb printing on the property papers when he sleeps.
Lost and Alon meets an eight -year -old orphan from Kalidhar in a nearby village. They make a close bond, spend time together in the village. Ballu’s cheerful soul helps Kalidh feel a sense of happiness and companionship. To understand that his family deliberately left him, he decides to focus on himself and become self -sufficient.
Meanwhile, the fire destroys the property papers, and the family has no choice but to search Kalidhar. Subodh (Mohammad Zeeshan Job), a well -wisher, also finds Kalidhar.

Director Madhumita told the story with sensitivity and care, which makes a case every moment. The camera work captures the beauty of the village, from quiet lanes to vibrant markets.
Amit Trivedi’s music, Haseen Parasayan and Hans Ke Jane Day, are like a fresh air breath. They inject positivity. Writing is clear, mixing cool moments with fun talks. Editing is a razor sharp and hence the film never grows. The film features Alzheimer’s with respect, avoiding additional drama. Topics of faith, betrayal and starting completely fresh connect.
What does Kalidhar not work for Lapata
Kalidhar is a remake of the missing Tamil film KD (Karuppu Durai), so it is not new. A original story could make it a film that would make a strong pop than now. Some scenes feel familiar, especially for those who know the original. Cruel tasks of the family lack deep objectives, which makes them look one -sided. These small issues do not ruin the film, but hold it back a little.

Abhishek Bachchan is excellent as Kalidhar. He shows pain, confusion and hope with small gestures and looks. Daiivik is a star in the form of Bhagela Balu, full of life and attraction. His bond is the heart of the film. Mohammad Zeeshan is strong as Job Subodh, showing care and anxiety as a well -wisher. Meera as Nimrat Kaur adds heat to the last parts in important moments.
