Kaara starring Dhanush and Mamita Baiju in the lead roles is all set to hit the big screens soon. Directed by Vignesh Raja, the upcoming film will be released in theaters on April 30, 2026.

The makers of Kaara announced the release date through their social media handles. Sharing the official post online, he wrote, “Kara will arrive on April 30, 2026. Kara from April 30.” Additionally, the team also confirmed that the first single from the film will be released soon, along with the official update.

Kara’s team recently unveiled the title of the film. In the 1 minute and 22 second teaser, Dhanush’s character is portrayed as a man who clashes with the wrong people because of his profession. As he finds he is being hunted, he realizes the only way out is to move forward and face the consequences of his past actions.
Torn between sin and virtue, he must save his family against all odds, engaging in a one-man battle before he loses everything. Blending intense action with intense and thrilling moments, the glimpse finally reveals her character as Karasami, also known as Kara.
Written and directed by Por Thozhil fame Vignesh Raja, the film stars Mameetha Baiju in the lead role. Additionally, the film stars KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Jayaram, Prithvi Pandiarajan, Suraj Venjaramoodu, MS Baskar, Sreeja Ravi and many others in lead roles.
The film, bankrolled by Wales Film International, is set to hit theaters this summer. GV Prakash Kumar is composing the songs and background score, Theni Easwar is handling the cinematography, and Srijit Sarang is serving as the editor.
Dhanush’s upcoming movies
Dhanush has announced that he will star in the tentatively titled D55 directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy. The project will be financed by Dhanush himself and will star Mammootty, Sreeleela and Sai Pallavi in pivotal roles. Although not many details about the project have been revealed yet, the film is expected to be a spy action thriller.
Additionally, the actor will be seen in the lead role in a historical political film, tentatively titled D56. The film will be directed by Mari Selvaraj and is expected to go on floors in September 2026.
