‘Joker Folie a Deux’ receives 11-minute standing ovation at Venice Film Festival
‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ starring Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix received an 11-minute standing ovation at the Venice International Film Festival. The musical thriller is directed by Todd Phillips.

Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga’s much-awaited film ‘Joker: Folies Deux’ received an 11-minute standing ovation at the 81st Venice International Film Festival. Reports suggest that the audience in the theatre cheered and especially praised Gaga’s performance in the musical thriller.
As per a report in ANI, the cast of ‘Joker: Folies Deux’, which included Joaquin Phoenix, Lady Gaga and Todd Phillips, was greeted with a standing ovation by the audience at the Sala Grande theatre on September 4. During the thunderous applause, the audience occasionally chanted, “Ga-ga, ga-ga, ga-ga!” During the break in between the chants, others chanted, “Gaga, we love you!” In response, the actor-singer thanked the fans and blew kisses.

In a surprise and much-awaited announcement, Warner Bros. India revealed that the much-awaited sequel, ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’, will hit cinemas in India on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, two days ahead of its originally scheduled release.

Directed by Todd Phillips, the film stars Joaquin Phoenix in the Oscar-winning role of Arthur Fleck, a troubled comedian who transforms into the infamous Joker. ‘Joker: Folie a Deux’ also features Lady Gaga in a prominent role, adding to the curiosity about the film.
Meanwhile, the film will release worldwide on October 4.
