As per Pinkvilla’s review, Vasan Bala’s Jigra is a mixed bag. It’s too incoherent and illogical to be a smart jailbreak movie, but as an emotional drama centered on a brother and sister relationship it largely succeeds.

This jailbreak themed thriller drama tells the story of two orphans. Being an overly protective sister, Satya does everything possible to save her brother Ankur from being sentenced to life imprisonment in a foreign land. Backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Alia Bhatt’s Eternal Sunshine Productions.

According to Pinkvilla’s box-office data, Jigra collected Rs 22 crore in its first week despite not having much competition at the box office.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt has a number of exciting projects, including Yash Raj Films production’s Alpha, co-starring Sharvari. This film will be released on Christmas 2025.

Next, she will star in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love and War alongside Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. Alia is currently busy shooting for the film, which is scheduled to release on March 20, 2026.

Additionally, Pinkvilla had earlier reported that Alia is tentatively in talks with Dinesh Vijan for a supernatural project titled Chamunda, and she is also considering producing and starring in a love story.

Meanwhile, Vedang Raina made her debut in Zoya Akhtar’s The Archies and received a special mention for her performance in Jigra. Stay connected with Pinkvilla for more updates!
