French prosecutors are demanding prison sentences and a ban on social media for two streamers accused of taking part in violent and abusive online broadcasts involving Jean Pourmanove before his death. Streamers Owen Senazandoti, known online as Naruto, and Safin Hamady have appeared in court in Nice, France, over videos they streamed on Kik between 2023 and 2025. Prosecutors said the material repeatedly depicted abuse and described it as a serious issue rather than simple entertainment. The verdict in the case is expected on August 5.
French prosecutors seek jail time for Kick streamers over Jean Pormanov abuse allegations
During the trial, prosecutor Maude Marty requested the court to give Naruto a 30-month sentence, with 18 months suspended and one year to be spent at home with electronic monitoring. He also requested a fine of €30,000 for him.For Safin Hamadi, prosecutors requested a suspended sentence of 18 months with probation along with a fine of €15,000. He also asked the court to restrain both the men from creating content on the online platform in future.Marty told the court that the streams were not just one-time events but were part of a frequently repeated pattern. He described the broadcast as “System of Human Abuse” And said that violence has become a core part of the content.Both streamers are facing charges including gang violence, abuse of a vulnerable person, sharing violent footage and inciting violence or hatred.The case involves alleged attacks against Jean Pormanov, whose real name was Raphael Graven, and another man known online as Caudoux. Prosecutors said the sections included acts such as slapping, kicking, hitting with objects, hair pulling, threats and paintball attacks.Naruto defended the videos by saying that they were staged entertainment and claimed that they brought joy to many viewers. He said he doesn’t believe they are causing harm. However, Safin told the court that he was not proud of his involvement.
The death of Jean Pormanov is not part of the current trial as the investigation is ongoing.
Although the case involves Jean Pormanove, the current lawsuit is not about whether Naruto or Safin caused her death.Pormanov died at the age of 46 on August 18, 2025, during a Long Kick livestream that lasted over 12 days. However, the autopsy reportedly found no traumatic injuries or any evidence that any other person was responsible for his death.Both streamers have stated that the actions shown in the video were agreed upon and made for entertainment. Pormanov’s mother also defended him after his death, saying that he had not abused her son and that she had helped him enjoy his life.The controversy continued even after Kik removed the creators involved from the platform. Some members of their streaming group later appeared on other platforms with new broadcasts, leading to more scrutiny.French authorities also launched a separate investigation into these latter streams and searched the group’s streaming location, taking computer equipment for investigation. Another investigation is examining Kik’s role, including how the platform handled content and whether it took adequate action.The final verdict in the trial will determine whether Naruto and Safin will receive the punishment requested by prosecutors.
