Veteran actress Kamini Kaushal was remembered in Mumbai as members of the Hindi film industry attended her prayer vigil after her death at the age of 98. Jaya Bachchan and Waheeda Rehman were among those in attendance, a respectful tribute to one of the earliest leading actors of Hindi cinema.

Jaya Bachchan arrived early wearing white and warmly welcomed her fellow senior actors. After some time, Waheeda Rehman maintained her characteristic restraint and decency. Their brief conversation drew attention to the sense of shared history that it represents.
