Jatt & Juliet 3 Box Office: Diljit Dosanjh, Neeru Bajwa starrer crosses Rs 80 crore mark worldwide in 11 days

Jatt & Juliet 3 earned Rs 15.50 crore worldwide in its second weekend, taking its total earnings to Rs 80 crore. The film is just Rs 20 crore away from becoming the second Punjabi film to earn Rs 100 crore worldwide and is also about Rs 1 crore away from making Carry On Jatta 3 the highest grossing Punjabi film. Both these targets are achievable provided the film’s earnings don’t fall drastically in the coming weeks.

The Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa starrer’s domestic and overseas collections are Rs 35 crore and Rs 45 crore respectively. In India, the film grossed Rs 7.20 crore in the second weekend, the third highest for a Punjabi film after Carry On Jatta 3 and Carry On Jatta 2. Jatt & Juliet 3’s domestic performance is at blockbuster levels but it feels like a disappointment as the expectations were of an all-time blockbuster. Its reception is not as strong as the previous two installments of the franchise, as was the case with Carry On Jatta 3 but it was saved by their genre being pure comedy whereas here the film goes into romantic drama territory which has less appeal, especially in the core Punjab market.

Internationally, the film has grossed US$5.40 million, which is currently the second-highest grosser for Punjabi films after Carry On Jatta 3 (US$5.70 million). It will soon top the total with a final estimate of US$6.75-7 million. Even though the numbers are at record levels, the way it opened, higher earnings were expected.
