Janhvi Kapoor recently reacted to the ongoing debate over Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rule that has taken over all the IMAX screens in the country, leading to the delay in the re-release of Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. The actor defended Pushpa 2 while addressing fans upset over the postponement of the Hollywood film.

This comes after several reports that Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar will miss its IMAX re-release in India due to Pushpa 2, with all IMAX screens booked for several weeks. The news disappointed many Nolan fans who were eager to experience the sci-fi masterpiece on the big screen. He expressed his disappointment, seeing this as a sign of changing audience preferences.

Janhvi reacted to a post on Instagram and criticized the obsession with western cinema. He urged greater appreciation of Indian films.

“Pushpa 2 is also cinema. Why are we so obsessed with idolizing the West and ignoring what comes from our own country and immediately disqualifying it from being considered worthy? It is the same raw representation and larger than life tone that other countries appreciate and are attracted to in our cinema, which we ourselves are embarrassed by. Sad,” she wrote.
