Actress Janhvi Kapoor is excited about her upcoming spy thriller, Ulj, which also stars Gulshan Devaiah alongside her. In a recent interview, Janhvi said that she has never been so sensitive about a film.

Speaking to Variety, the actor said, “I’ve never taken so much ownership of a movie before and been so passionate or sensitive about a movie. They really made me feel included and empowered, and that I had a voice. It’s a great feeling because I’ve never taken so much ownership or had so many opinions about everything related to a movie before.”

During the interview, Janhvi also spoke about how the Indian audience has evolved.

Janhvi added, “What always matters for the Indian audience is whether they connect with the story and the emotion of the film. Even if it is an emotion that can be captured in a mass or commercial film, I know there is always an idea, or at least a seed of an idea, that connects with the audience.”

The actor also spoke about how audiences now have different and varied expectations from makers after being exposed to global content through OTT platforms: “In the last few years, through the boom of digital media they have been exposed to a lot of world cinema and art and shows from around the world. I think maybe that has influenced their taste a little bit.”

Meanwhile, Ulaj will release in theatres on August 2.
