Jan Nayakan leak: Editor of Thalapathy Vijay’s last film suspended for ‘alleged negligence’; report

The much-awaited film Jana Nayakan is believed to be the last film of Thalapathy Vijay. Now according to reports, film editor Pradeep E. Raghav has been temporarily suspended by the South Indian Film Editors Association (SIFEA). Although he has not been directly implicated in the leak, the association has cited ‘rule violations’ for disciplinary action.

Jan Nayakan’s editor suspended

According to Hindustan Times, SIFEA said in a statement, "It has been confirmed before the Executive Committee of the Association that the Film Editor Mr. Pradeep E. Raghav has consistently violated the bylaws of the Southern India Film Editors Association by employing non-members as assistants on all the films he produced, including Jan Nayakan. This act is against the rules of the association." The organization stressed that such practices are in place to protect film content during the production and post-production stages.

The statement said, "Further, although Mr. Pradeep E. Raghav is not directly responsible for the illegal release of the film Jana Nayakan on the Internet, he has admitted that it was due to his negligence. If this situation continues then there is a danger of the film industry closing down. It is the duty of the South India Film Editors Association to prevent such undesirable incidents from happening in future."

The investigation reveals that the freelance assistant editor, who was working on another project, gained unauthorized access to Jan Nayakan material in an editing studio. They allegedly compiled and circulated the footage, which quickly spread on social media and piracy platforms. Scenes from the film were leaked on April 9, 2026. Following the breach, KVN Productions LLP issued a public warning against sharing any leaked material, expressing “shock and urgency” at the incident and warning that strict action would be taken against offenders. Apart from Vijay, Jana Nayagan also stars Mamitha Baiju.
