A soccer tournament has sparked an unexpected social media feud between Twitch streamer Marlon Lundgren Garcia and boxing star Jake Paul. This quickly grew on X and Twitch, with both influencers going back and forth. Originally, the drama started a few days ago when Marlon hosted an IRL livestream from the Celsius Football Tournament. Jake Paul’s fiancee and Olympic gold medalist Jutta Leerdam was also participating in this program.

Jake Paul calls out Marlon in Jutta Leerdam controversy

A clip of Marlon’s Twitch stream went viral on X, in which Jutta Leerdam was seen expressing his displeasure at the amount of content creation taking place during the event. She said directly: “Too much vlogging! Put the cameras away and focus on the ball, and score.” Marlon stuck to his guns, acknowledging her situation and responding on stream: “Like, you know, she’s an Olympic gold medalist, so I should probably listen to her. But I’m also not going to listen to him because… I’m also a gold Olympian.”The clip caught the attention of Jake Paul, who fired back at Marlon on X in response to a video posted by @yoxics. Paul wrote: “My girl doesn’t do this shit for fun. We make content because our jet fuel costs too much, but I used to run that game and then I purposely retired from it because of this weird shit. I don’t need to make clips and chase money to get famous. You’ve just met someone who’s a real person who doesn’t give a fuck about your stream. Play ball homie.”

Marlon hits back at Jake Paul

Marlon responded to Paul’s comments during a later stream, which he described as unnecessary escalation. He said: “I was being so respectful the whole time to your girlfriend or whatever because, obviously, you run a very strict schedule, which I respect as well. Very simple. leave it at that. What’s the problem, brother?” He also took a dig at Paul’s current relevance, saying: “You’re not getting a million likes on an Instagram post every time you post. I understand, brother.”Marlon later reiterated his point, saying that Paul’s reaction was driven more by ego than genuine complaint: “You’re a big man and you always think there’s nothing wrong with you, when it’s not, and that’s the thing, brother.”After both the parties publicly expressed their views, this feud is now firmly in the court of social media.
