Trigger warning: Article mentions rape and abuse.
Wendy Williams believes it’s “about time” Sean Diddy Combs faced the consequences of his actions over the past few decades. On January 16, the former talk show host appeared on The Breakfast Club and made bombshell statements about the disgraced music mogul.
“Didi is going to jail for life, guys,” he predicted. The media personality claimed that many people did not know “things” that she already knew about Didi. Williams said, “You know what? It’s about time, people. It’s about time. Diddy’s done.”
The Fina Get Loose rapper was arrested in September 2024 on sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution charges, to which he has pleaded not guilty. Diddy – who is currently incarcerated in a Brooklyn jail – has been refused bail despite multiple requests.
While the rapper was detained, his 2015 Wendy Williams Show interview resurfaced online. In the viral clip, William was questioning Diddy’s alleged controlling behavior with his then-girlfriend Cassandra “Cassie” Ventura.
He explained how dating a “mogul” can make the other person insecure and helpless in situations. He could have easily chartered a private jet, flown her to South Africa and landed her on the rooftop of the hotel where she was staying. He could pay the front desk staff and have the keys to his room, thereby defeating all attempts to gain privacy.
Williams said that if she were in that situation, she would be “crazy”. In November 2023, Ventura famously sued Diddy, accusing him of rape and abuse, which he settled within 24 hours. Williams, who had notably feuded with the rapper in the past, claimed in his 2004 memoir that the record executive “tried to ruin his career.”
She further accused him of making her life miserable. Williams – who is currently living in a New York facility – said at the time, “What hell he put me through. I’ll never forget. But I don’t hate him.”
If you know someone who is struggling with abuse, please reach out and report it. There are many helplines available for this.
