Suriya is set to star in the upcoming fantasy action entertainer Karuppu directed by RJB (RJ Balaji). While more details regarding its release are yet to be confirmed, it appears that the actor is continuously working on his future projects.
Is Suriya ready to work with Geetha Govindam’s Parasuram?
According to online reports, Surya is in talks with director Parasuram for a film. Reportedly, the upcoming project will be a commercial mass action entertainer, which has the retro actor liking the first narration.
Earlier there were speculations that Surya will work with director Nahas Hidayat or Pandiraj after Surya47. Now it seems that Parashuram has also come into this discussion, although it has not been officially confirmed yet.
Surya’s work front
Suriya was last seen in the lead role in Retro. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the romantic action film tells the story of Pari, a hitman working for his stepfather’s gang, who decides to give up his violent ways to be with the love of his life. However, when they inevitably get separated, the film focuses on how they re-unite and what challenges Pari faces along the way.
Apart from Suriya, the film also featured Pooja Hegde, Joju George, Jayaram and many others in lead roles.
Looking ahead, the actor is all set to hit the big screen with his fantasy action entertainer Karuppu. The film reportedly tells the story of a lawyer who gets possessed by a deity to fight against the injustice done to certain sections of the society.
Directed by RJB (RJ Balaji), the film stars Trisha Krishnan in the lead role and is expected to release by summer this year.
Meanwhile, the Soorarai Pottru actor is currently working on Suriya46, a family drama that will star Raveena Tandon and Mamita Baiju in the co-lead roles.
Additionally, Suriya is also working on a police action-comedy film tentatively titled Suriya47. Directed by Awesham fame Jeethu Madhavan, the film is expected to be based on the adventure story of an eccentric cop. Neslen also plays an important role in the film, along with Nazriya Nazim Fahadh in the co-lead role. The music will be composed by Sushin Shyam, marking his debut in Tamil cinema.
