Is JD Vance unaware of Trump’s Iran attacks? During the press briefing, the VP became uncomfortable when journalists asked him to check his phone.

In an awkward moment on the world stage, US Vice President JD Vance had to panic during a press conference after realizing he was concerned about new developments in the crisis with Iran. Journalists asked him to check his phone for updates about the alleged US attacks, the Daily Beast reported.Vance was standing with Hungarian President Viktor Orban in Budapest when a Washington Post reporter asked if he had any intelligence about a diplomatic deal with Iran. Initially, Vance responded without using his device. “I don’t do it unless I have a text message from Steve Witkoff,” he said, referring to Trump’s former adviser and Middle East envoy.Only after putting his hands in his pockets did the Vice President realize that he actually had a message. “I have a message from Steve Witkoff,” he admitted after glancing at the text. “Wouldn’t you like to know the contents of this message? But no, uh, I need to read it before I can talk about it.” Then she asked, “But here is, here is… uh, what time is it in the United States right now?”The exchange came just moments after US President Donald Trump published a post warning that “an entire civilization will die tonight” if Iran did not meet an 8pm deadline for a deal.A few minutes later, a Reuters reporter pressed Vance further and suggested he should check his phone more carefully. He said, “I think you should read that text because we have reports that the United States is attacking some targets in Kharg Island.” The reporter continued, “You said the military objectives of this war have been achieved. So can you help us understand why the President is still threatening to attack every bridge and every power plant in Iran?”Kharg Islands off the country’s coast is a major Iranian export hub, handling about 90% of its crude oil exports. Reports emerged on Tuesday that it had been attacked again following a US attack in March that targeted installations including naval mine storage and missile bunkers.“So you asked about Kharg Island,” Vance replied during the conference. “You know, my understanding, after talking to Pete (Hegseth) and General Kane about this, is that we were going to attack some military targets on Kharg Island, and I believe we did that.”Vance said: “(The President has) said very clearly, that we will not attack energy and infrastructure targets until the Iranians either make an offer that we can accept or make no offer. But he has given them until 8 o’clock Tuesday, so I don’t think the news on Kharg Island represents a change in strategy.”Responding to the general situation, Vance defended the administration’s approach: “The President of the United States is a man who recognizes the leverage, that if the Iranians want to exact a certain amount of pain, the United States has the ability to exact a lot, much more pain.”The US President threatened Iran with massive attacks on its infrastructure and warned: “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day and Bridge Day in Iran, all rolled into one. Nothing like it will happen!!! Open the f—-n’ strait, you crazy—–ds, or you’ll be in Hell – just watch!”During the briefing, Vance also reiterated Trump’s stance, saying: “I expect Iran to respond appropriately. There are tools in our toolkit that we have not yet decided to use. President Trump can decide to use them, and he will decide to use them if the Iranians do not change their course of conduct.”
