iPhone 16 Pro price drops by Rs 13,901, should you buy it better than iPhone 17 Pro?

If you’ve been thinking about upgrading to a premium iPhone, now might be the right time. The iPhone 16 Pro is currently selling at a discounted price on Flipkart, making it one of the hottest flagship deals right now. However, with the latest iPhone 17 Pro already on sale, this also adds to the confusion whether buying the iPhone 16 Pro is the right choice or whether you should buy the latest flagship to enjoy the most premium and best experience from Apple.

Let us help you sort out your confusion so that you can choose whether you should confirm the deal going on from Flipkart or not.

Take a closer look at the Flipkart deal on iPhone 16 Pro

First, let’s check out the deals on Flipkart. The e-commerce site is offering the iPhone 16 Pro at Rs 99,999, down from its listed price of Rs 1,09,999. But you can save more. With select bank discounts – such as Rs 4,000 off through Flipkart Axis or SBI credit cards – the price effectively drops to Rs 95,999, making it a discount of Rs 13,901 and one of the lowest deals available for most users. Additionally, Flipkart is offering an exchange bonus of up to Rs 68,050, depending on the smartphone you buy. But let’s not talk about exchange deals as it depends on your current phone and its condition etc.
So, is the iPhone 16 Pro a good deal at Rs 99,999 with this discount?

It’s worth noting that Apple has discontinued the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max to pursue its latest flagships, and the iPhone 16 Pro is currently only available at select retail stores. Most online websites are not selling the phone right now, with many reporting it as being out of stock. To maintain the promotion they may release limited stock here and there. Even Flipkart is showing limited availability. So getting this flagship for under Rs 1,00,000 right now is definitely not a bad idea.

But is it worth buying compared to the iPhone 17 Pro?

Now it really depends on what you want from your next iPhone. Launching in 2024, the iPhone 16 Pro still packs a strong punch with its 6.3-inch Super Retina It also features a titanium build, better battery efficiency, and USB-C support – all of which make it a very capable flagship even today.

However, what makes the decision difficult is that the iPhone 17 Pro is a pretty big upgrade. It brings the new A19 Pro chip, which offers stronger sustained performance and better thermal management. Thermal management is what makes it a better option than the iPhone 16 Pro.

Then again, its display is brighter, tighter, and more efficient, and Apple has updated the camera system in the iPhone 17 Pro with better low-light performance, faster processing, and a more advanced telephoto setup. And Apple has brought back the aluminum body, meaning it’s a little lighter than the iPhone 16 Pro, although the older iPhone certainly looks more attractive with its titanium frame.

Apple has also improved battery life, cooling, and long-term software support with the iPhone 17 Pro. So, if you want a phone that can last the next four to five years with absolutely top-tier performance, the new Pro model gives you more breathing room.

but price matters

Of course, we can’t ignore the price. At Rs 95,999 after the offer, the iPhone 16 Pro is undoubtedly a good deal. You’re getting a flagship-grade device with incredible cameras, strong performance, a premium titanium build, and long-term support, making it a great deal.

However, if you want to experience the best that Apple currently has to offer, and you don’t mind spending the extra amount, the iPhone 17 Pro will give you better performance headroom, better cameras, and a more future-proof package. It is priced at around Rs 1,30,000 which is a slight premium compared to the current price of iPhone 16 Pro. But we think the better cooling and better set of cameras, including the best selfie camera in any phone, make it worth it.
