In short
- When you swipe to the left on any missed call, you get a blue reminder icon
- Tap it, and you will be given some options: remind me 1 hour, tonight or tomorrow
- Later gives me a reminiscent, which lets you set a custom time and date
If you are someone who often misses the call while getting busy, and then forgets to call completely later – then you are not alone. Between office, travel, household chores and all other everyday chaos, the track is easy to lose. With iOS 26, Apple has a very useful new feature pair that can help with exactly what. Now you can set a callback reminder for missed calls directly from the phone app. It is a small addition, but actually work. Especially for people like me, who are spashed with dozens of unknown numbers every day, but still want to remember to recall that case. It works like this.
If you are running iOS 26 beta (like I am), or you are planning to update the final version, then after roll out, just open the phone app, head for rents, and swipe to the left on any missed call. Now you will see a blue reminder icon. Tap it, and you will be given some options – remind me in 1 hour, remind me tonight, or remind me tomorrow. I am also later reminiscent of the option, which lets you set a custom time and date. This is what I found the most useful, because it gives more control. For example, I could remind my brother to call my brother to call around 6:30 pm, just before his shift ended.
A clean touch is that you can also set to repeat these reminders, as you do with alarm. So if there is someone you call regularly, and you often forget, it can act like a backup elbow. These calls join the reminder reminder app, and you can organize them in your list or tweak them later if necessary.
He said, I want there was an option to make this automatic, but only for specific people. For example, if I can always ask my iPhone to be reminded after an hour when I miss the call from my mother or my closest friends, this will make the feature even better. Right now, manual step works well, but for someone who deal with constant spam calls (thanks to loan agents, fake insurance plans and banks), automation with filters will actually take it to the next level.
Nevertheless, this is a good start. Apple clearly thinks of ways to make small things smarter and more helpful. This feature is live in beta, and will roll out all once after being launched publicly with the iPhone 17 series in September.
