Inside Ram Charan’s meeting with PM Modi: Discuss pedi, idea of developed India
At an event in Delhi, Ram Charan recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi asking what his next film Peddi was about. The actor used the exchange to underline the film’s focus on ‘developed India’ and explored the theme in it.

Actor Ram Charan, recalling his recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, revealed that he had asked him about his upcoming film. pedi. Speaking at a promotional event of the film in Delhi, the actor said that their conversation revolved around rural India, sports and emerging stories emerging from Indian cinema.
Recalling the conversation, Ram said that PM Modi was particularly interested in the basic idea behind the film.
“Last time when I met our honorable Prime Minister Modi ji in Delhi, he asked me whether pedi Was about. I told him it is about a developed India and empowering our villages,” said Ram.
Talking more about the concept and inspiration of Peddi, the 41-year-old actor said, “Our archery team in India largely consists of tribal athletes. Naturally, they have that talent for the bow and arrow. None of them are from the city or the YMCA; they come from tribal communities. It was wise for the archery authorities to recognize that talent among the villages and the tribals.”
He further said, “Last time I was in Delhi, I met Mr. Modi and he asked me what the film was about. I told him, ‘Sir, it is about whether weIxit Bharat It is about empowering our villages. same concept Sir. (It has the same concept, sir).”

He said the Prime Minister then shared a story from West Bengal about how sports has transformed an entire community across generations.
The actor said, “Modi ji shared a story from West Bengal, where decades ago a footballer from a small village represented India and today more than 85 people from the same village play football.”

Speaking further about the themes explored in the film, Ram highlighted how many South Indian films today are based on small towns and villages rather than urban backdrops.
He said, “The films we are making in the South today are deeply rooted in our culture and soil. They are not city-based, but based on villages and towns. We have many tribal players in our archery team in India because they naturally have that talent. It is beautiful when such talent from villages gets recognised.”
Ram had met PM Modi during talks with his wife Upasana Kamineni Konidela in New Delhi last year regarding the launch of the Archery Premier League led by Anil Kamineni.
