infinix gt50 pro review

Introduction

Infinix’s GT series has matured quite a bit since 2023 and the new Infinix GT 50 Pro is an easily loved gaming phone for its design, features and price.

Gaming-oriented smartphones are becoming less popular every year. Asus was once the leading manufacturer for mobile gaming gear, but there hasn’t been a new ROG Phone since 2024. Nubia is still pushing new RedMagic phones, but while nice, their prices have gone up quite a bit. This is where the Infinix GT 50 Pro comes into play.

The new GT 50 Pro features a new design with even more advanced RGB lighting, visible liquid cooling and upgraded shoulder triggers. The phone is still IP64-rated for dust and splash resistance.

The GT50 Pro relies on a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1208 x 2644 pixels, 10-bit color depth, 144Hz refresh rate, and 330Hz touch sampling. The phone uses the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 8400 Ultimate chipset with all big-core CPU design, UFS 4.1 storage and 12GB LPDDR5X RAM.

The camera department is the least impressive part of the GT 50 Pro with a 50MP OIS primary, 8MP ultrawide and a 13MP selfie imager. You can use the dual triggers to map multiple camera app features and turn this average setup into a pro-grade setup, at least in terms of controls.

The GT 50 Pro is powered by a 6,500mAh battery that supports 45W wired, 30W wireless, and 5W reverse wireless charging. Bypass wireless charging is also available, but you’ll need the GT MagCharge cooler accessory to enable it.

Lastly, the phone runs on Android 16 with XOS 16, and it will receive 5 major Android updates in the future.

Unboxing the Infinix GT 50 Pro

The Infinix GT 50 Pro comes inside a nice looking box with a nice textured surface that feels frosted when handled.

The box contains the phone, a 45W power adapter, a USB cable, and a transparent case with magnetic attachment support.

If you want to get the most out of your new GT50 Pro, you’ll want to pick up Infinix’s new MagCharge Cooler 2.0 accessory.

The cooler magnetically attaches to the back of the case and can provide both 15W wireless charging and 12W thermoelectric cooling (TEC). You can also enable wireless bypass charging, which will deliver power directly to the motherboard while gaming.
